My cotton socks are to be well worn but beautifully blessed when it comes to opportunities.
But the thing is, I’m fat full of potential but I’m not finding the right situation to throw it around.
That doesn’t mean I’m wasting time. Every chance I’ve had I’ve hijacked the local radio, done some extra video editing work on the side and right now I’m doing some articles for international magazines.
I’m not getting paid for it, and that’s the bummer. Now it’s experience over qualification that’ll get you the dream job these days.
So every ‘opportunity’ during the times you’re trying to secure a stabilizing job is actually you being a part volunteer for a slice of the year, and nobody likes to not get paid for their hard work.
BUT - If you are somebody who likes to work for free then come to my house, I got a lot of laundry to get through and then I want you stay awake at night whilst I sleep and take care of the spiders that keep crawling in my room with a Doc Martin.
Getting back to my point. . .
The same job loss factor had affected and still is affecting everyone since the bankers cocked up. The poor got poorer, and the rich, well, they just got richer by not paying their taxes.
For this, I feel I should share a few things about optimism.
Everybody likes to talk but when they hear own voice played back to them, its common to say that it doesn’t sound like them and they refuse to listen further.
I, on the other hand, hate the sound of my voice BUT love knowing there’s wisdom in that croaky voice. I sometimes learn more about myself during a playback.
Here are some phrases I find helpful when I need a little pepping up:
“Success is a thick musk or perfume that is hard to achieve. You got to sweat out the right amount of confidence and experience the highest measure of achievement to get the ingredients perfect for the recipe for this power climber.”
“For some it takes years. For others, it takes mere minutes. For the rare unfortunate bastards, it is a smell that lingers like a wet dog.”
“You shouldn’t try to be successful, you should be successful.”
“Someday, this will make sense. Everything in you makes you your own world, so you rule it, you rock it, and you make it roll with you, and have it no other way.”
Now it’s sounding all a little egoistical but honestly Troggs, it helps me feel a little better about myself when I feel I’m going to break apart in the middle of a major project or when I’m doing any kind of work.
These are just snippets of a self-help book I plan to publish when I get some of my other projects as well as my degree out the way.
Talk about plugging a book after an emotional discussion about job losses, jheez. EGO INFLATED MUCH? … Er, no.
After university, I plan to be victorious over Success and plant my flag on the top of the paper stack hill of Achievement.
Hopefully by then I’d be way too high up in the game to give you a helping hand, so I’ll just throw down a book, my book.
Aw, shucks I know what you’re thinking:
‘Jheez, she’s already started making a self-help book on confidence, have you seen her vlog? Confidence crawled up her ass and made a killing on a blog, but it died on camera.’
I don’t even know why I’m promoting it; I’m actually kind of ashamed of it. But the more views it gets, a little bit in me that’s dying from shame cancer is whispering ‘hooray for me.’ *COUGH COUGH* - - - dead
…
…
The morale of this blog entry was actually about building your self-esteem but I think I totally sidetracked it. That probably means I’m a bad writer.
Huh.
Dan Brown is a bad writer, but he’s rich cause you read his crap books and heck, he even made movies from them with Tom Hanks as the main guy, and Tom Hanks is usually awesome – until he made those awful movies that MADE MILLIONS $$$ AND £££.
Random? Not really, but ‘nuff said.
Go listen to Toxic by Mark Ronson featuring Tiggers from his album Version.
Amazing to melt your ears to when you’re feeling for a laid back track or that you’re a sleazy cheater and you know it. Bit like fuckin’ Dan Brown.
